LET US DESIGN YOUR WEBSITE TODAY
Website design for business covers many different aspects of creating, maintaining and promoting your online presence. The different areas of website design include graphic design, interface design, creating user experience and search engine optimization or SEO. To most people many of these concepts sound foreign and time consuming, but as a business owner they are critical to your success.
People usually go to your website for a specific reason. They want to learn more about you or they want to buy something from you. You must make sure that you answer their questions or showcase your products in a simple and user-friendly way. If your site is designed poorly you could lose potential clients and thousands of dollars.
As a website design company, we have created websites for many industries including professional services, eCommerce, real estate, directory listings and more. We have developed five page sites and thousand page sites. Through our experience we have learned the winning strategies of successful site design and the pitfalls many people fall into.
Here are a few things to consider when designing a website for your business:
- Know your target audience and design accordingly.
- Know the goal of your website and make sure you have a clear call to action to achieve that goal.
- Remember, a user-friendly website is far more effective than a flashy design full of gimmicks. This is especially important with smart phones and tablets becoming more and more popular.
- Make sure your content is current and updated frequently. Not only will this help your customers, but it also helps with your search results.

Did you know that images generate lots of search traffic? Did you also know that you can create and post the images on your website that can rank in the image-based search engines? Image optimization is an under-valued part of website design and is often overlooked. You’ve heard that a picture is worth a 1,000 words so why don’t you put the story inside your pictures using metadata and IPTC?
Image optimization is important to not only tell the story behind the picture, but to protect your pictures on your website. Embedding your information inside your pictures tells the search engines where the images actually came from. It is important to add your company name, address, phone number and website information to your photos. If your competition or other sites use your photos, the search engines will know where the pictures originated. There are other tricks such as watermarking or adding GPS to pictures to make sure they are linked to your site as well. Contact us and let us fully explain the benefits of image optimization.
YOU NEED A MOBILE OPTIMIZED WEBSITE
Let’s start with defining what a mobile website is because there are different definitions out there. It comes down to two concepts:
Mobile Compatible: This is a website that simply works on a smartphone or tablet. It does not contain flash and can be navigated using a mobile device. There is usually lots of scrolling and pinching involved.
Mobile Responsive and Mobile Optimized: This is a website that is created specifically for individual mobile devices. The screen you see on your desktop is different than that on a tablet and also different than a smartphone. The images are less obtrusive and should load faster. The menu is easier to navigate and there is no need to pinch the screen.
Now that you know the difference, which do you need? That’s easy. The answer is you need a mobile responsive and mobile optimized site. However, this is not always the easiest project. Creating a mobile optimized site from a current site can be very tedious and difficult depending on the size and type of website you have. Often times getting a mobile optimized site requires you to completely redo your current site. Even though that may sound daunting it is super import to have a mobile responsive site. It is predicted that by 2019 more than 75% of searches will be done from a smartphone and the ecommerce revenue generated from mobile devices is staggering.
Rest assured, all of the websites we create are mobile responsive and mobile optimized for speed, adaption and usability.
